Births June 1856
This instruction relates to the June quarter of the 1856 births.
Where the scan is taken from the "A-F" group, the letter(s) in the centre of the scan filename will read "A" to "F", and no special action is required. Use the group of four numbers at the end of the scan filename without adjustment.
Where the scan is taken from the "G-O" group, the letter(s) in the centre of the scan filename will read "G" to "O", and the first number of the group of four should be increased by 2, thus "0111" would be come "2111" and "1234" would become "3234".
Where the scan is taken from the "P-Z" group, the letter(s) in the centre of the scan filename will read "P” to"Z", and the first number of the group of four should be increased by 4, thus "0111" would be come "4111" and "1234" would become "5234".
This is necessary because there is insufficient space within the file name to differentiate between the groups "A-F", "G-O" or "P-Z".
